Since its inception in 1954, the company has made considerable inroads in Kenya’s energy sector. Geothermal Development Company, GDC: is fully government-owned. GDC was formed in 2008 as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to accelerate the development of geothermal resources in Kenya.
